Spanish immersion elementary school for kindergarten?

I have a kindergarten child starting in the fall and have the option of immersion Spanish in our district. Does anyone have any experience with this good or bad? Pros / Cons? Are fully immersed for k-6. Partially submerged in 7 and 8. In grade 9 must be fully fluent and just take a Spanish class.

I say we should do it and at home with your child speaks English. my sister is 4 years old and in preschool, where they only speak English, but at home, talking to her in Spanish and Spanish only, and that is our mother tongue as now she speaks English and Spanish and the first im guessing that might have felt frustrated because I was alone in her school and could not speak, but now she talks the two languages ​​perfectly well and knows how to turn off between English and Spanish. We intend to always speak in Spanish to her house and she only speak English outside our house. I have 16 and I moved to the U.S. in Peru for 6 years. I did not know any English until I moved here and went to school like any other child and learned English on my own and I feel blessed to be bilingual and I will be trilingual, because in high school now I'm taking French for me last year i have been conducted with Spanish 4AP (i I stragiht in this class without taking Spanish 1-3), French and 4 of course i already know English. When I moved here English was a struggle just a little, but I'm in the higher percentage of my high school and get straight As in my sister and advanced classes.So I are the two examples that despite a new language can be difficult at first is best in the end, so if you can get your child to be bilingual to keep going because it is an opportunity that some children do not have and it looks better on the college transcript.
